has successfully conducted science-based natural resource studies for
a variety of public- and private-sector clients for over two decades.
NSR understands that not all projects are alike and that the regulatory
environment is constantly changing. Our staff develops study methods and
approaches that are specific to individual project needs and that address
the pertinent questions or problems, the potential study costs, project
schedules, and the applicable regulatory processes. Our approach to conducting
natural resource studies is goal-oriented and solution-driven and allows
NSR to pioneer new, more efficient, and innovative techniques and strategies
for meeting our clients' needs. |

NSR
employs one of the finest staffs of natural resource specialists in the
region. Our multidisciplinary staff includes wetland scientists, wildlife
biologists, plant ecologists, restoration scientists, aquatic and fisheries
biologists, invertebrate ecologists, and vegetation specialists. Our natural
resource specialists are intimately familiar with their resource areas,
the corresponding regulatory requirements, and the agency consultation/coordination
processes. NSR employs scientists with a variety of experience and skill
levels to ensure that appropriate professionals are assigned to corresponding
tasks. Senior scientists and corporate principals provide quality assurance/quality
control of all projects. |

NSR provides a variety of technical services to a diverse client base. NSR undertakes projects of all scales, from multi-year, large-scale species inventories for the U.S. Forest Service to biological characterizations of one-acre parcels for developers. We have successfully completed hundreds of wetland delineations and dozens of Section 404 permit authorizations to fill wetlands and dozens of permit authorizations to fill wetlands under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. Our staff scientists are well-versed in required survey protocols for a variety of sensitive and special-status species, including vernal pool species, California red-legged frog, California tiger salamander, northern spotted owl, marbled murrelet, valley elderberry longhorn beetle, nesting raptors, and rare and listed plants. Our natural resource specialists have also conducted numerous consultations under Section 7 of the Endangered Species Act and prepared Habitat Conservation Plans under Section 10 of the Act. NSR also offers watershed and aquatic habitat planning, evaluation, mitigation, and restoration services. NSR's multi-disciplinary scientific specialists are teamed with in-house GIS, information management, and environmental compliance and permitting specialists to offer high-quality, fully integrated technical products for our clients. |
