NEPA/CEQA Environmental Analyst

NSR is seeking a Mid- or Senior-Level NEPA/CEQA Environmental Planner/Analyst to work in our Redding corporate office overlooking the Sacramento River. We seek candidates who have at least six years of experience in mid-level environmental planner/analyst positions at environmental consulting firms in California, who have learned the ropes and are confident and experienced practitioners of CEQA and NEPA, who feel constrained and unchallenged in their current positions, and who are ready to seize an opportunity to take their careers to the next level.

Potential candidates should be motivated professionals who would enjoy managing the growth of our planning division within the framework of an energetic office and staff. NSR is currently working on several high-profile environmental documents, including an EIR for a major hydroelectric re-licensing project, an EIR/EIS for a water supply project for a southern California military base, and NEPA/CEQA documents for restoration projects on the Trinity River. In addition, we have on-call contracts with a variety of federal, state, and local agencies, including the Bureau of Reclamation, USDA Forest Service/Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Caltrans, Shasta County, Trinity County, Tehama County and the City of Redding, as well as private firms including Sierra Cascade and CH2M Hill. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the preparation of complex NEPA/CEQA documents, permit applications, technical reports, and other environmental documents, and for assisting with proposal writing and marketing efforts.

Desired knowledge and skills: The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental planning, geography, natural sciences, or a related field; and six years of experience in environmental planning, NEPA/CEQA compliance, and regulatory permitting. Water resources project experience is preferred. Excellent writing, oral communication, and computer skills are required.

Opportunity: NSR offers excellent career opportunities, a pleasant work environment, competitive salaries, and a comprehensive benefit package that includes an employee profit sharing 401(k) plan with a company match on a portion of the contributions, and medical/dental benefits.

Application Process: Please reply with your surname and the position sought in the subject line of your e-mail to: employment@nsrnet.com and attach a cover letter (including the position title) with your resume, salary history, and three professional references. E-mail applications are preferred.
